The Watch Factory

Knowsley Housing Trust developed a significant historic factory building with 2 new build wings in Prescot into Extra-Care Housing for the over 55’s. Form Interior designed all the communal and functional spaces consistently referencing the industrial past of the building whilst providing comfortable and homely spaces for residents and visitors. Reception, restaurant, hobby room, hair salon and treatment room, WC’s, guest suite, staff room and offices plus all circulation spaces were given careful attention to detail. Illustrated cogs from the watches made here were inlaid in mixed metals into the Corian reception counter. Dividing screens in the restaurant reflect the proportions of the original windows. Bespoke museum cases replicating the original work benches also provide space for Prescot Museum to install changing displays relating to the social history of the building.
